On 30 November 2016, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Intellectual Property Research Institute (VIPRI) in coordination with the Vietnam Centre for Science and Technology Evaluation (VISTEC) and National Institute of Patent and Technology Exploitation (NIPTEX) hosted the Seminar on Reality of Patent Exploitation & Innovation in Vietnam in order to introduce research findings and policy implications related to this topic.
At the seminar, there was Mr. Tran Viet Thanh - Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Professor. Hoang Van Phong - Chairman of National Technology Innovation Fund, leaders of bodies under the Ministry and representatives from research institutions, authorities on intellectual property / technology /policy…

Mr. Nguyen Huu Can, VIPRI Deputy Director General presented his research on The reality of using patent in some industries in Vietnam that introduced methods, evaluation results of the using patent in some industries in Vietnam and some policy recommendations for developing patents in particular and used - patent industries in general.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Xuyen, NIPTEX Deputy Director presented his research on Promotion the cooperation and exploitation of patents in some manufacturing industries that have competitive advantage in Vietnam, in which shown the survey results on patent exploitation in some manufacturing industries in Vietnam and solutions for association, cooperation of patent exploitation in these sectors.
Mr. Trinh Minh Tam, VISTEC Deputy Director presented his research on Evaluation of Technology Innovation Capability of Vietnamese Enterprises that introduced a number of methods on evaluation of technology innovation capacity of enterprises and the results of application of these methods at some Vietnamese enterprises.
Panorama of the Seminar
The presentations with new problems, research direction attracted the attention of many delegates. In the spirit of absorbing and learning, there were lively, in-depth discussions, specific theoretical and practical issues were also raised. At the end of seminar, Pro. Hoang Van Phong highly appreciated the achievements of the seminar and encouraged bodies under the Ministry to cooperate for more high quality, practical researches in order to serve the national science technology policy planning in the coming time.
